Xia Jie Meets NLD Cadres

Xia Jie, Vice-President and Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), met a 15-member delegation composed of cadres from the National League for Democracy of Myanmar (NLD), in Beijing on July 2, 2019. The delegation was headed by Shwe Pon, Member of NLD's Central Committee and Member of the People's Parliament.

Xia said that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the CPC's Central Committee, with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, attaches great importance to Chinese women's undertakings and women's federations' work. Under the firm leadership of the CPC, Chinese women have achieved historically remarkable progress. Xia also said that ACWF, as a women's federation under the leadership of the CPC, is willing to enhance exchanges with the women's committee of Myanmar's ruling party. She added that both sides will learn from each other and promote progress of the development of comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Myanmar.

Xia and Shwe Pon discussed experiences in women's work conducted by ACWF and the women's committee of Myanmar's ruling party.

The Myanmar delegation visited China at the invitation of the International Department of CPC's Central Committee.
