Shen Yueyue, Vice-Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China and President of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), met Khunying Natthika Wattanavekin Angubolkul, President of the Women Entrepreneurs' Association of ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and President of the Federation of Business and Professional Women's Associations of Thailand, in Beijing on May 28, 2019.

Shen said China and Thailand are good neighbors and people of the two countries have deep emotional ties like being in a "family." During the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation held in Beijing in late April, Chinese President Xi Jinping met Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha. The heads of the two countries reached important consensus on further deepening pragmatic cooperation in all fields, pointing to new directions for the development of the bilateral relations. We need to implement consensus reached by leaders of the two countries and promote our traditional friendship to bring the "familial" ties to the deeper hearts of the Chinese and Thai people and advance the friendship between China and Thailand with greater development, Shen noted.

Shen added that women's friendly exchanges and cooperation constitute an important component of China-Thailand relations. Women's organizations in the two countries have maintained intimate relations and frequent contacts during the past four decades, which made positive contribution to the advancement of Chinese and Thai peoples' friendship, Shen said.

She hopes that women's organizations in the two countries will further strengthen friendly contacts. In particular, young women are expected to play important roles in promoting generations of friendship between China and Thailand, and bring new vigor to the development of the bilateral relations.

During the meeting, Shen congratulated Khunying Natthika on becoming President of the Women Entrepreneurs' Association of ASEAN. Shen said women of China and ASEAN countries have conducted exchanges and cooperation of various kinds and achieved good results. She added China is willing to cooperate with women in ASEAN countries on promoting women's all-round development, entrepreneurship and innovation, to make women's unique contributions to the deeper development of China-ASEAN relations.

Khunying Natthika thanked Shen for the cordial meeting. She hoped to further strengthen contacts with China, deepen the traditional friendship between Thailand and China, and play a positive role in advancing the friendship between people of Thailand, ASEAN countries and China.

Khunying Natthika came to China to attend the Board Meeting of China Overseas Friendship Association held in Beijing. Xia Jie, Vice-President and Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, attended Shen's meeting with Khunying Natthika.
