Li Yueyang, Deputy Director-General of the Legal Department of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), headed a six-member delegation to Japan from December 10-14, 2018 to learn about the country's good practices in supporting women's employment.
In Japan, the delegation visited the Gender Equality Bureau of the Cabinet Office, the National Women's Education Center, the International Women's Education Association, UN Women National Committee Japan, the National Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs of Japan and etc.
Japan as an aging and low fertility society, the government has formulated laws, policies, development strategies and has taken measures to promote the participation of women at different ages in economy and support them to balance work and life. Japan's practices in supporting women's employment provide good reference for China. The delegation also learned about Japan's measures in protecting women's reproductive rights and combating domestic violence.
