ByYe Shan February 2, 2019

The All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) organized a meeting in Baoding, North China's Hebei Province, in December 2018, to review the progress of early childhood development (ECD) program in communities across China. Since 2013, ACWF, in collaboration with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), has established 170 ECD community service centers in Shanxi, Hubei, Hunan, Guizhou and Hebei provinces, and in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The community-based ECD centers provide health, nutrition, early stimulation, child welfare and protection services to families. The programs have offered good practices of integrating family support for children aged under 6 into the public service system of local governments.
