A group of children painted pictures featuring the technology-driven battle against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic on a 100-meter long scroll on August 23 at the Nanjing Science and Technology Museum in Nanjing, capital city of East China's Jiangsu Province.

The activity was part of activities marking the 2020 National Science and Technology Week — a week-long science popularization campaign which kicked off on August 23 in Beijing and last till August 29.

Since its launch in 2001, the Science and Technology Week has become an important science and technology popularization campaign across China.

The themes of this year's science week are combating COVID-19 with science and innovation, the latest scientific breakthroughs in frontier sciences, building a more prosperous society, and poverty alleviation via science and technology, said Wang Zhigang, Minister of Science and Technology, at the event's opening ceremony.
