A group of pupils in the Dachang Hui Autonomous County, North China's Hebei Province, visited a local archive to learn about the stories of role models, as the International Archives Day approached on June 9.

During the event, a volunteer told the stories of the moral models through achieves and digital resources, leaving a deep impression on the students from No. 2 Primary School in Dachang.

The electronic resources allowed the students to learn about the stories of the role models in a more direct and efficient way.

International Archives Day, established in 2007 by the International Council on Archives (ICA) — the world's top archival authority — aims to raise the public awareness of the importance of archives.

An archive, different from a library, is deeply rooted in human practical activities. It is an integral part of human cultural heritage and information resources, and is a  witness and a record of human economic, political and social development.
