Girl Shows Respect, Sends Gifts to Border Soldiers

 November 13, 2020

Zhao Yuke, a 11-year-old schoolgirl in a primary school in Xi'an, capital city of Northwest China's Shaanxi Province, spent her pocket money buying 80 bottles of moisturizer, and sent them, with a letter, to the border guards who are stationed on the borderlines of Southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region with India and Nepal.

Zhao was deeply touched by the story of these loyal and optimistic border soldiers reported in a TV program during this year's National Day holiday.

In the video, the faces and hands of the soldiers are chapped by the strong ultraviolet light on the plateau.

"I couldn't hold back tears when I heard a soldier's words in the video. I was deeply moved, but mostly I felt great respect for you. We can't enjoy our happiness and peace during the holiday without your commitment and dedication. Hope the moisturizers are helpful for healing your cracked skin," Zhao wrote in the letter.

With her father's help, Zhao succeeded in sending the gifts to the officers and soldiers stationed in border areas.

Zhao soon received a letter in reply with a photo of the soldiers, expressing their blessings for her and their sincere gratitude for her concern.
