In October, Hebei Women's Federation, Hebei Association of Women Judges, Hebei Association of Women Procurators and Hebei Lawyers Association released the lists of the province's top 10 cases involving women and children's rights and interests and top 25 excellent women and children's rights-protection cases during a news conference in Shijiazhuang (capital of North China's Hebei Province).

The cases were selected from among 231 cases collected by people's courts and women's federations, at all levels in the province, during the past year. The selection of the cases highlighted the achievements of women's federations, at all levels in Hebei, and law enforcement agencies (in the province) in working together to protect women and children's rights and interests during the past year. Some of the cases involved infringements of women's personal rights, and their rights in employment, marriage and family. Other cases involved the sexual abuse of girls and the judgement in a custody dispute involving a baby.

Legal experts said the selection of the cases can help guide law enforcement agencies as they handle cases involving infringements of women and children's rights and interests. The cases can also help workers with women's organizations (in Hebei) improve their ability to help women and children protect their rights and interests.
