To promote social harmony and stability, Jiangxi (in East China) Women's Federation, Jiangxi provincial departments of Civil Affairs and Public Security and other organizations recently promulgated a document, in which the organizations' officials offered suggestions on how to improve Jiangxi's work related to helping and caring for left -behind women (whose husbands have left home to work elsewhere).

The document contains regulations on the protection of the women's legal rights and interests, and on the care offered to the women in their health and cultural lives. The document also stresses greater efforts should be made to help the women start their own businesses, to teach them how to educate their children well, and to guarantee the women to exercise their democratic rights (according to law).
