Federations in NE China's Jilin Promote China's Anti-Domestic Violence Fight

ByYao Yao September 26, 2020

The anti-domestic violence regulations of Jilin Province (in Northeast China) took effect on August 1. Women's federations, at all levels in Jilin, during the past month have conducted various activities to publicize information about the regulations, and to help women raise their awareness about the importance of protecting their legal rights and interests.

To implement Chinese President Xi Jinping's people-centered development philosophy, the regulations contain provisions on promoting both family virtues and socialist core values among residents.

In accordance with the regulations, "cold violence," or emotional and/or mental abuse (such as indifference, willful lack of communication), should also be defined as domestic violence.

The regulations are also intended to strengthen the protection of minors' legal rights and interests.
