Helping Parents Take Care of Infants, Children

 February 18, 2020

"Zhejiang will make greater efforts to achieve the targets (of improving residents' livelihoods) outlined in the 2020 Zhejiang Provincial People's Government's annual work report, so residents' sense of fulfillment, happiness and security will grow stronger," Yuan Jiajun, Governor of East China's Zhejiang Province, said during a recent work conference.

Yuan told media the government recently drafted plans (to improve residents' livelihoods), many of which were aimed at benefiting women and children. He also said the government this year plans to adopt 10 measures to improve residents' livelihoods, to help them solve difficulties in their lives.

Since China implemented the two-child policy, on January 1, 2016, an increasing number of Chinese families have had a second child. Many of those families have experienced difficulties in enrolling their children in kindergartens. To help the families solve the difficulties, Zhejiang Provincial People's Government has made it the top priority this year to establish 200 organizations dedicated to taking care of children aged three and under.

In addition, the government will adopt measures to help residents solve difficulties in various aspects of their lives, including issues involving food, transportation and medical care.
