The China Beijing International Magic Carnival opened in the capital's Changping District in late October.

The carnival is jointly hosted by the Chinese Acrobats Association, the Beijing Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau and the Changing district government.

Live magic shows, video competitions and online exchanges among magicians will be staged during the carnival, which will last till December.

A five-year program was initiated at the carnival. A total of 100 intangible cultural heritage magic performances will be held, 100 sets of training videos will be prepared, and more magic events will be held to offer 100 magicians performing opportunities.

The annual carnival was first held in 2012 and aims to cultivate magic talent and promote magic culture and industry development across the country and the rest of the world.
