China, with its vast territory and diverse terrain, attracts people from all over the world wishing to explore its geographical mysteries. The book Hi I'm China, has an embossed cover that captivates everyone at first sight with a Chinese topographic map with concave and convex textures, and the book's contents are even more attractive than the cover.

Compiled by the Institute for Planets and the China Society on Tibetan Plateau, the book gathers the excellent works of the Institute for Planets, and can be regarded as a printed form of The Most Beautiful China documentary.

The book includes 365 original works by 191 photographers, many of which are made available to the public for the first time, along with 53 maps in another size of paper to present terrain more fully.

In particular, there are some striking horizontal-composition photographs in the book. To highlight the details of the photos, the book includes three complete pull-pages up to 1.8 meters long to give the readers the most realistic and detailed scenes, said Wei Hong, Director of the Publishing Department of the CITIC Press Group.

"From the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to the coast of the East China Sea, the book represents colorful natural landscapes and folk customs," said Liu Jiaqi, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

With eye-catching photos and interesting captions, the book introduces both the beautiful scenery of China and local culture and history. "It's a unique encyclopedia and human geography book," Liu added.

Most people may not be well aware of the three gradient terrains of China, and how the differences between them result in the change of the geographical landscapes. The book is arranged to show the three gradient terrains of China, and its catalogue is also designed in a three-step form.

"In fact, it is difficult for many people to cover every inch of our motherland in their lives," Wei said, adding that the book allows readers to enjoy the beauty of China in its mountains and rivers, and in people's lives across the country without leaving home.

It took three years to publish the book, during which time many photographers worked hard to get good pictures. The pictures selected are based on a fairly high standard — dozens were chosen from thousands of submissions. "There are also many photographers who re-shot pictures to show readers the most beautiful China," Wei continued.

"We don't just want to publish a book; we want to use the expertise and professionalism of our publishers to tell the stories of a young China from a geographic perspective," explained Li Mu, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the CITIC Press Group.
