Huang Xiaowei, Vice-President and First Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), met Alberto Blanco Silva, Cuban Ambassador to China, in Beijing, on April 17.
Huang noted China and Cuba are good friends, good comrades and good brothers. In recent years, under the strategic guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, relations between China and Cuba have enjoyed robust growth, becoming a model of solidarity and cooperation among socialist countries, and a model of sincere mutual assistance among developing nations, she added. With the support of successive leaders of the Communist Party of China and the Communist Party of Cuba and of both countries, women's friendly exchanges and practical cooperation, between China and Cuba, have yielded fruitful outcomes, Huang added.
The Outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of the People's Republic of China (2026–2030) was adopted by the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, in March, setting out an inspiring blueprint for China's high-quality development over the next five years, Huang continued. A series of important plans, for work related to women, children and their families and women's federations, were included in the outline, which provides important guidance for promoting gender equality, advancing women and children's well-rounded development, and facilitating social civility and progress through every family's happiness and well-being, Huang said.
Chinese modernization will create vast opportunities for the common development of all countries, and will inject strong impetus into the development of global women's cause, she continued. The ACWF stands ready to continue strengthening friendly exchanges with Cuban women, and providing support to Cuba within its capabilities, Huang added. "We are confident, under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Cuban people will surely overcome the current difficulties and continue to advance the socialist cause in Cuba," Huang concluded.
Blanco thanked China for its long-standing and firm support for Cuba. He spoke highly of China's achievements in women's development, and he expressed readiness to deepen exchanges and cooperation with the ACWF, in the fields of women and children, to elevate the China-Cuba friendship to new heights. He also provided details about Cuba's livelihood security and women's development, under the blockade measures imposed by the United States.
Lin Yi, Vice-President and Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, attended.
