People visit a center for promotion of Hezhe intangible cultural heritages at a folk custom-themed scenic area in Sipai Hezhe Ethnic Township, Raohe County, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, Aug. 22, 2025. Sipai Hezhe Ethnic Township is one of the main settlements of the Hezhe ethnic group in China, and also the birthplace of "Wusuli River," a Hezhe folk song popular across the country. In recent years, the township has achieved a shift in its economy, which, instead of relying excessively on traditional fishing, enabled a balance among fishing, agriculture, and diversified auxiliary businesses. By establishing dedicated task forces, building a Hezhe historical and cultural database and developing creative products based οn Hezhe intangible cultural heritages, the township managed to improve local people's life while continuously preserving, exploring, and promoting the Hezhe culture.
