The Chinese delegation files into the stadium during the opening ceremony of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, in Milan, Italy, on February 6.

Xu Mengtao competes during the freestyle skiing women's aerials finals on February 18. Xu made Olympic history, as she became the first freestyle skier to claim consecutive Olympic aerials gold medals. Xu's teammates, Shao Qi and Kong Fanyu, finished third and fourth, respectively.

The Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, in Italy, concluded on February 22, after 17 days of competitions that witnessed broad participation and historic breakthroughs. China — which fielded 126 athletes in 91 events across 15 disciplines — sent its largest-ever delegation to an overseas Winter Olympics. China finished the Olympics with 15 medals — five gold, four silver and six bronze medals — which marked its best result at an overseas Winter Games, and which equaled its overall medal count from Beijing 2022. Chinese athletes, both veteran and rookie Olympians, provided many memorable moments during the Games. In this edition, Women of China English Monthly highlights some of the moments for our readers.
