On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Shen Yueyue, Vice-Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and President of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), visited Guo Liwen and Huang Ganying, ACWF's retirees, at the Peking Union Medical College Hospital on September 12, accompanied by Huang Xiaowei, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group of the ACWF and Vice-President and First Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF.
Shen conveyed the greetings of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) to the two retired officials and gave them medals marking the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC) issued by the CPC Central Committee, the State Council and the Central Military Commission.
Shen asked Guo and Huang about their physical conditions and on behalf of the ACWF they expressed high respect for their efforts and contributions to women's development in China.
"You have made contributions to the founding of the PRC, and worked hard for socialist construction, reform and opening up and the development of the women's cause in China," said Shen.
"Whether facing favorable circumstances or adversity, Guo and Huang were loyal to the Party and truly cared for women on the job or after retirement," said Shen, adding that their good thoughts and work style are precious spiritual wealth for successors.
Shen wished them good health and a long life, and assured them that the ACWF would remain true to the original aspiration, keep its mission firmly in mind, and carry forward the traditions and hardworking spirit, uniting and leading women under the guidance of the CPC.
The ACWF will continue to visit other retirees and bring them the care of the Party.
