Myanmar Women's Delegation Visits Beijing

At the invitation of the All-China Women's Federation, an eight-person Myanmar Women's Delegation, headed by Daw Khin Thet Htay, vice-president of Myanmar Women's Affairs Federation (MWAF), came to China on June 14 for a 10-day visit that included stays in Beijing, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Yunnan Province.

Meng Xiaosi, vice-president and member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation, met with the delegation on June 16 at the Chinese Women's Activity Center in Beijing. The delegation came to China to learn  from the country's experience in women's work and in bringing the Reform and Opening-up Policy into effect. Daw Khin Thet Htay expressed on behalf of the delegation its intention to promote favorable communication and cooperation between China and Myanmar. The delegation also met with heads and staff of the International Liaison Department and Department for Women's Rights and Interests of the All-China Women's Federation, and the National Working Committee on Children and Women under the State Council. It also visited the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
