The Sichuan Provincial Women's Federation of (Alliance of) Rural Livestreamers was established during a conference, on April 13, in Qingchuan, a county in Guangyuan, a city in Southwest China's Sichuan Province.
Ninety-two representatives of women livestreamers attended the conference, and they elected the federation's first executive committee.
The federation will guide women livestreamers to follow the leadership of the Communist Party of China, and it will help unite and empower women. It will also help integrate resources, promote industry-driven development and support livestreamers' growth.
Women account for more than 60 percent of all rural e-commerce workers in Sichuan.
The 201 alliances of rural livestreamers in the province have enabled more than seven million women to find employment near their homes.
Women's federations, at all levels in Sichuan, will support the work of the federation of rural livestreamers by strengthening cooperation with relevant departments, enterprises and institutions.
