The China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) and Shanghai Chando Group jointly held a social practice activity for 20 Spring Bud girls from Xizang University in East China's Shanghai Municipality from July 27 to August 1.
During their visit to the research and development center of Chando on the first day of their stay in Shanghai, the girls learned about its advanced research and development facilities and rigorous experimental procedures in its laboratories. They also went to Chando's livestreaming studios, where they experienced the work οf livestreaming hosts.
Chen Juanling, general-manager of public affairs at Chando, shared with the girls about Chando's stories with the Himalaya Mountains in a gathering titled "Toward the Light." Students gave warm applause when Chen showed to them Chando's ecological conservation efforts and achievements in Shigatse of Southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region.
Chen said that Chando has attached great importance to environmental protection in the Himalaya Mountains, fulfilled corporate social responsibility via the organization of social public welfare activities, and committed itself to striking a balance between sustainable development and protective exploitation of natural resources. She called on the Spring Bud girls to strive for progress and become a major force to promote the economic and social development οf their hometowns and society.
Several outstanding women workers from different departments of Chando shared their growth and career stories with the girls. They encouraged the girls to make a plan of their future life, remain self-respect, confident, independent and resilient, maintain a sense of curiosity about the world, and strive for beauty as well as dream.
During their visit to Shanghai Institute of Nutrition and Health of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the girls learned about its development history and scientific research, admired the charm of scientific research activities, and planted a seed οf scientific dream.
The girls also visited the Memorial Hall of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the World Expo Museum, the Bund, οther well-known historical and cultural relics as well as landmark buildings and gained a comprehensive understanding οf Shanghai's inclusive, pioneering and innovative development philosophies.
