ACWF Leader Calls For Enhanced Family Building, Family Education, Family Traditions

 May 5, 2015

Shen Yueyue, president of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), conducted a series of research trips to official agencies under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and to central government departments on April 29.

In response to Chinese President Xi Jinping's recent call to "strengthen family building, family education and family traditions", the women's leader requested that officials at the agencies and departments step up their efforts in building more civilized families. She hoped to encourage them to constantly improve their working manners and ultimately help create a better society.

Shen's first visit was to People's Bank of China and the Ministry of Transport, where she shared family stories and video clips with the staff on the theme of inheriting and popularizing the best family traditions.

Afterward, Shen attended a forum to exchange ideas about building healthy and civilized families, attended by officials and representatives from working committees on women. So as to produce honest and upright officials, Shen shared her experiences from the "Seek the Most Beautiful Families" campaign and analyzed the status quo of family education and family-building in China.

With great appreciation for all the achievements of these agencies and departments in promoting family building, family education and family tradition, Shen made another call to enhance the role of female officials. She hopes that more attention would be paid to the actual needs and abilities of female officials, with an eye to fully tapping into their potentials in serving the society and the country.

"Constant efforts must be made to pass on the best family traditions and strengthen family-building. This would help enhance the working style of CPC members and government officials, and make them better serve the country," said Shen.

Jiao Yang, member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, joined Shen during the research trip along with other officials.
