Chinese leader Wang Qishan joined political advisors from the Yunnan delegation during the fifth session of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), in their panel discussions on March 9 in Beijing. He introduced various aspects of Yunnan Province.
Focus on Yunnan Province
1) Online Shopping
The latest figures so far this year indicate a rise of 62 percent in women online shoppers in southwest China's Yunnan Province. This is 19 percent higher than the national average. Online consumption in Yunnan Province has boomed to 45 percent, 23 percent higher than the national average.
2) Unearthed Potteries and Bronze Artifacts Repaired
An archaeologist found many exquisite funerary objects including some potteries and bronze artifacts in the Yangfutou Tombs, Kunming, capital city of Yunnan Province. These funerary objects are mainly living utensils from the middle of the Warring States Period to the Ming and Qing dynasties. Recently, archaeologists are repairing and drawing the unearthed potteries and bronze artifacts at Guandu District Museum in Kunming.
3) Metro Line 6 & Metro Line 3
Metro Line 6 has been completed in Kunming. The phase I project from the eastern passenger terminal to Changshui Airport is preparing for trial operation to carry passengers. Additionally, Metro Line 3 beginning from Dongfeng Square station is expected to open in June this year. Passengers can transfer from Line 3 to Line 6 at an interchange station.
4) Gudian Road
Kunming will invest 5.8 billion yuan (about U.S.$ 842 million) to build Gudian Road in 2017. It is expected to open to traffic in 2018 and will be the fourth fastest channel to Chenggong new district in Kunming, capital city of southwest China's Yunnan Province.
5) Online Food Safety Supervision
On March 8, the popular online meal delivery platform "E Le Ma" released its interim results on food safety supervision in March. The online food provider checked more than 1 million takeaway food suppliers via the platform, revealing 5257 unqualified suppliers. There are 141 unqualified takeaway food suppliers in Yunnan Province, 42 of them are located in Kunming, capital city of southwest China's Yunnan Province.
6) App-based Car-hailing Provider
Recently, Wanshun Jiaoche, an app-based car-hailing provider, has joined the car-hailing market of Kunming, with a 12 percent service charge for drivers.
