A program named Ensuring Children's Safety was jointly launched by China Women's Development Foundation (CWDF) and FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co. Ltd in Changchun, capital city of northeast China's Jilin Province on May 16. Over 200 delegates from relevant parties attended the launch ceremony.
Delegates from FAW-Volkswagen declared at the ceremony that the company would donate 1,500 sets of children's car seats to the CWDF. FAW-Volkswagen will cooperate with kindergartens and women and children's hospitals to promote the ideology of ensuring children's safety in cars.
Zhu Xisheng, deputy general-secretary of the CWDF said as a public institution with 5A ranking, CWDF has been committed to providing a better environment for women and children's development. Zhu added that children's safety in cars is crucial to every family and has raised more attention from the public. Zhu emphasized that the program of Ensuring Children's Safety is conducive to enhancing people's understanding of children's safety in cars and improving children's safety overall.
At the ceremony, engineers and transportation security experts explained to people about how to select and use children's car seats.
