The Wuhan Branch of China Minsheng Bank has granted micro credit worth of U.S. $ 3.48million to women in central China's Hubei Province, as start-up capital to boost self-employment and combat poverty.
In response to central and provincial policies of supporting the development of small-sized enterprises and promote women's wellbeing, Hubei Women's federation initiated the small-loan program, making it much easier for local women who have solid business models but who lack financial support to start their own businesses.
President of Hubei Women's Federation Peng Limin pointed out that women should seize this opportunity to fulfill their dreams and make a positive contribution to social stability and economic development under the realistic and sound financial aid plan.
Women were also encouraged to run businesses together and free themselves from traditional roles to pursue successful careers.
Peng urged women's federations at all levels to explore more ways to promote local women's entrepreneurship.
