A gathering to mark the arrival of annual International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking and further raise the public's vigilance on the illicit use of drugs was held at the Qiyimen Community of the Ziyang Neighborhood in Wuhan, capital city of central China's Hubei Province, on June 26.

During the gathering, local volunteers distributed publications to local citizens in connection with the dangers of drug addiction and shared the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and answered their relevant questions.

Meanwhile, Vice-President of Hubei Women's Federation Gao Qin visited Fang Wen, a policewoman stationed at the community, and encouraged her to deliver more needy assistance to local underprivileged residents, especially drug addicts.

She also spoke with former drug-users, learned about the difficulties they face in their daily lives, and called on them to build up confidence to have success after giving up the use of illicit drugs.
