Ip Shun Hing, president of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) Hong Kong Delegates Association, headed a group of a dozen senior officials to hold a meeting with senior staff from the city's Central Policy Unit at the local government headquarters on July 30.

The Hong Kong Central Policy Unit's major function is to provide advice and recommendations on public policy and other matters to the Chief Executive and other senior officials in the Special Administrative Region.

During their meeting, attendees held talks about the prospects for Hong Kong in 2040 in terms of its education, women's affairs, housing policy, health care and environmental issues.

Meanwhile, they also gave their advice about how to further promote healthy development of these topics against the background of an ageing population, and hoped that local government would better listen to the public's opinions and introduce effective policies to cope with these matters.

Those in attendance at the meeting included Ho Man Kay and Zheng Zhen, who are the vice-presidents of the ACWF Hong Kong Delegates Association, along with other officials from the organization.
