The fifth stop of an educational tour on the exemplary stories of model families was held at Shiwu Village in Danzhou, a city in south China's Hainan Province, on June 15.
The tour was part of "Looking for the Most Beautiful Families" campaign, which was sponsored by women's federations at various levels across the nation to find representative families representing traditional Chinese virtues and core socialist values, and so inspire the public.
During the event, Fu Haiwen and Qian Yanping, two speakers from South China Sea Pearl Lecturing Team, talked about Xing Fuhao and Niukaicheng, both of whose families had been recognized as model families.
Later, Wu Cong, from a model family in Danzhou, told her story of safeguarding the homeland of egrets and maintaining an ecological balance in their village.
Those present included Yang Cuixia, vice-president of Hainan Women's Federation; Xie Xiongfeng, member of the Standing Committee and minister of the Publicity Department in Danzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC); He Liangchan, president of Danzhou Women's Federation; staff members from Hainan Women's Federation and Publicity Department of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the CPC; and local residents.
