Pang Guangling, president of Beihai Women's Federation in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Vice-President Chi Ying, headed all cadres to visit low-income families and check the construction progress of infrastructure in a local village on October 12, promoting a targeted poverty alleviation program in the region.

During the visit, officials brought subsidies and various supplies to local impoverished residents, and recorded the income of families in poverty and the current progress of manufacture and poverty alleviation. At a local disabled villager's home, Pang and Chi presented quilts and school supplies to the family and encouraged them to be optimistic when faced with difficulties in life and pay close attention to their children's education.

In addition, Pang and Chi expressed their satisfaction with the local infrastructure construction including basketball courts and dams. Officials also evaluated and investigated the planned location of a duck farm and suggested that the village should learn from others' helpful experiences and organize villagers who are the investors to discuss various construction schemes for the farm and figure out the best option with the lowest cost.
