A residential community in Nanning, capital city of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, has become the autonomous region's first pilot community to open a consultation & service center about the construction of happy marriages and families.

Along with more than 50 families and 10 social volunteers there, the women's federation in Xixiangtang District and the residents self-administrative committee of Wanli Residential Community held an unveiling ceremony on October 22 to mark the official kick-off of the consultation & service center.

At the ceremony, organizers also launched a campaign to promote the construction of happy marriages and harmonious families amongst the public.

The newly launched consultation & service center was part of "Serial Programs about the Building of Happy Marriages & Families in China" initiative, which was a three-year project co-sponsored by the China Association of Marriage and Family Studies (CAMF) and to open 28 similar centers at residential communities in 18 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities this year.

Under the support of local women's federations, organizers of the initiative will invite professionals to lecture residents at beneficiary communities about the maintenance of happy marriages and families and relevant legal regulations, organize model families to share with the public about their experiences, and hold multiple activities to increase local residents' knowledge about China's first Anti-Domestic Violence Law and the cultivation of correct attitudes towards dating & marriage.

On the sidelines of the unveiling ceremony, participants attended a parent-child activity, which aimed to deepen interactions and the formation of harmonious ties amongst families and family members, help children broaden their horizons and increase their inter-personal communication skills.
