The local ethnic bureau and women's federation co-opened a sewing workshop for women in Lanjin primary school in Lingyun county of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in a bid to help local women learn skills and seek better job opportunities, March 24.

As the tourist industry has developed in Lingyun, more and more visitors want to buy traditional garments of the Yao ethnic minority. The sewing workshop aims to promote the protection of minority traditional crafts and to industrialize local clothing manufacturing.
