The 3rd Guangxi-Taiwan Women Photographers' Exhibition was jointly held by the Guangxi Women's Federation — of southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region — and the Hualian branch of the Chinese Women's Association of Trade and Culture across the Taiwan Strait at the Hualian Art Museum, in Hualian County of southeast China's Taiwan Province, from April 22–26, 2015.
The exhibition, whose title was "Family Harmony Brings Prosperity to Beautiful Guangxi and Hualian," aimed to demonstrate natural beauty, ethnic culture, and positive social conventions as well as domestic teachings from Guangxi and Hualian; shed new light on traditional Chinese culture and domestic virtues; and showcase the common cultural beliefs among women across the Taiwan Strait via displayed photography works produced by female photographers from the two regions.
"Women from [the Strait's] two sides have played an increasingly important role in the promotion of people-to-people exchanges, cultural and economic cooperation, and other aspects over past several decades. Meanwhile, they are expected to further make joint contributions to the advancement of the two regions' cooperation in multiple fields throughout the coming years," said Wei Chao'an, vice secretary of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), at the exhibition's opening ceremony on the morning of April 22, 2015.
Those in attendance at the opening ceremony included Fu Kun-chi, magistrate of Hualian; Liu Kan, director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional People's Government; Wu Yanjuan, vice-president of the Guangxi Women's Federation; Xü Zifang, director of the Hualian branch of the Chinese Women's Association of Trade and Culture across the Taiwan Strait.
