An exhibition by female artists, jointly organized by local media, government and official women's groups, was held at the Guangxi Zhuang Museum in Nanning, capital city of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, from May 15-18.
The exhibition, titled "Family Prosperity Leads to Prosperity, Jointly Build up the Chinese Dream", aimed to celebrate the arrival of International Day of Families (May 15), showcase local achievements in relation to the "Seek the Most Beautiful Families" campaign --- which promotes outstanding family practices in the China –- and deepen the observance of core socialist values amongst the public.
After an intensive selection process, 113 artistic creations were selected on the basis of merit out of nearly 1,000 candidates' works. Each piece highlighted the strong efforts of local women to advance their country's social and economic affairs over past years.
The 5th Guangxi Exhibition on Women Artists' Paintings and Calligraphic Works was jointly run by the Guangxi Women's Federation, the Guangxi Civilization Office, the Guangxi Federation of Trade Unions, the Guangxi Commission on Universities and Colleges' Affairs, the Guangxi Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, the Guangxi Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the Guangxi Female Painter-Calligrapher Association.
In attendance at the exhibition's opening ceremony were President of the Guangxi Women's Federation Wang Gebing; Director of the Guangxi Civilization Office Yang Zhengwen; Vice Chairperson of the Guangxi Federation of Literary and Art Circles Zhao Rufeng; and officials from other attendant government departments.
