Authorities in northwest China's Gansu Province recently launched an association of integrated medical resources in order to improve maternal and child care across the region.
Officials from three newly-partnered organizations recently signed an agreement during the launch event in Tianshui.
The three organizations represented were the Provincial Maternal and Child Care Service Center, Tianshui No.1 Hospital and the city's Maternity and Child Care Service Center, respectively.
The latest initiative aims to solve existing problems such as the imbalance of resources regionally and the lack of facilities for treating children's illnesses, reported an official.
Specifically, organizers hope to enhance the medical service capability of hospitals at grassroots levels.
Later, the three departments plan to join efforts in terms of clinical teaching, technical support and scientific medical research. Also, staff will explore new approaches in providing better medical assistance.
Meanwhile, a team of medical experts from the Provincial-level Maternity Emergence Center will launch training sessions to improve service capabilities, according to a statement.
