"Looking for the Most Beautiful Families" — a campaign launched the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) to promote traditional family values — is currently in full swing across the country.

Women's federations of different levels are working hard to guide women and their families to practice core socialist values and set up good family examples, pushing the campaign to a new high, according to organizers.

Photographing 'Most Beautiful Families' in E China's Heze

In an effort to promote excellent traditional family values, such as "love, honesty, respect of the elderly and responsibility," the Heze Women's Federation and the Heze Women Photographers' Association have joined hands to photograph the "most beautiful families" in 10 neighborhoods of Heze, a city in east China's Shandong Province.

To date, they have visited 15 "most beautiful families" and taken more than 100 photos, to the acclaim of local people.

"Thanks for visiting our family. I'm grateful to have a good daughter-in-law, Li Shenglian. While I have been sick these years, she has taken good care of me, just as if she were a natural daughter," said villager Wang Guangmin's mother, in her 80s, when the Heze Women's Federation and the Heze Women Photographers' Association visited her family at Heze's Luzhuang Village on April 3.

Several years ago, the elderly woman had a serious fall. Through emergency treatment she lived and lost her ability to walk. These years, her daughter-in-law has been willingly taking responsibility for looking after her, to improve her diet, wash her clothes and bedding and place daily necessities within reach.

In 2014, their family was selected as the village's "Most Beautiful Family." Under Li's inspiration, Luzhuang Village has seen an increase in model daughters-in-law and mothers-in-law, building up a harmonious village environment, said representatives of the scheme.

Various Channels Used to Seek 'Most Beautiful Families' in NE China's Fushun

In order to make sure the campaign covers the whole city, the Fushun Women's Federation of Fushun City in northeast China's Liaoning Province has taken advantage of various channels to promote the campaign.

For example, the Fushun Women's Federation carried out an activity to mobilize families to share their traditional family values and stories.

The Federation summarizes a five-step selection procedure, consisting of self-recommendation, online promotion, public selection, deliberation, as well as promotion of the "most beautiful family" in communities. In addition, women are encouraged to get two other women and families are encouraged to get two other families to participate in the campaign, thus expanding its reach.

Producing 'Most Beautiful Family' TV Show in N China's Wuhai

"Party Flag Flying" is an educational TV show jointly produced by the Organization Department of the Wuhai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the regional TV station of Wuhai, a city in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

By virtue of the TV program's wide coverage, the Wuhai Women's Federation has actively sought support from the municipal committee to produce special coverage and short videos on the "most beautiful families" and broadcast them via TV across the city.

In recent years, the Wuhai Women's Federation has made the most of new media to open its blog on Sina Weibo (the Chinese version of Twitter), started an online discussion group on instant messaging app QQ, as well as a blog on WeChat (a popular mobile messaging and micro-blogging app).

In addition, the Wuhai Women's Federation has launched an e-learning program to enrich educational resources for women, which has experience strong local take-up.

'Looking for Most Beautiful Families' in Agricultural Cooperatives in S China's Huizhou

In 2014, the Longmen Women's Federation of Longmen County in Huizhou, a city in south China's Guangdong Province, brought forth new working methods, namely, better enabling all-female farmer agricultural cooperatives to establish Women's Homes.

Women's Homes are cultural activity centers where women and children can read books in the library, exercise in the gym and attend various lectures in the auditorium.

Currently, Huizhou City's five agricultural cooperatives took their campaign to the Women's Homes to mobilize their members to recommend and select the "most beautiful families."

Li Saina, a left-behind woman farmer, whose husband has gone to work in a bigger city, has overcome personal and economic hardships to look after both the young and old around her, and built a harmonious and happy family unit. Accordingly, her household has been selected as one of the region's "Most Beautiful Families."
