CWU's Labor Union Plays Role in Epidemic Prevention

Since the start of the fight against the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the labor union of the China Women's University (CWU) has actively raised donations for the hard-hit areas and expressed warm greetings to workers on the front line of the COVID-19 prevention and control.

'Warm Wuhan' Donation

To respond to the call of the Beijing Education Trade Union for raising money for Wuhan City, capital of Central China's Hubei Province, the epicenter of the epidemic outbreak, the labor union of the CWU mobilized teaching faculty and administrative staff to join a donation initiated by the Beijing Warm Foundation. The labor union has continued to work closely with the foundation and makes timely reports on use of the fund.

Care for Epidemic Prevention and Control Staff

The university's labor union launched a support activity for the COVID-19 prevention and control, and it set up a special fund for the purchase of protective materials for the staff.

On February 24 and 25, Li Mingshun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the CWU, and Liu Liqun, President of the CWU, sent gifts prepared by the labor union to the staff on duty on the front line of the university's epidemic prevention and control and expressed their care and greetings.

Li said with the efforts of the staff, the CWU has taken effective preventive measures to curb the spread of the disease. He hoped the staff at the front line would pay attention to their safety, get enough rest, and continue the fight for the safety of the university.

Liu thanked the staff on duty for their dedication to the university's epidemic prevention work and their sense of responsibility and caution. She encouraged them to strengthen their confidence and continue to maintain vigilance against the risks.

In addition, the labor union also sent greetings to the family members of five employees who were fighting on the front line of the epidemic prevention and control work.

Scientific Information Popularization

The labor union of the CWU strengthened efforts to popularize scientific information about the epidemic prevention and control work through its WeChat groups and WeChat public accounts. The union also issued an initiative calling on all faculty members to take more exercise and improve immunity at home.
