CWU Hosts Event with German Singer Maximilian Hecker

 April 12, 2016

The Youth League Committee and Art Group of China Women's University (CWU) co-sponsored a cultural exchange meeting for college students on April 7.

Organizers invited famous German pop musician Maximilian Hecker to participate in the meeting and communicate with students face-to-face, in order to broaden students' horizon, improve their musicianship, and enlarge their knowledge of western music.

Hecker's songs are full of ethereal beauty and melancholy. Since his first album Infinite Love Songs was released in 2001, he has toured across Europe for many times, and released another six studio albums successively.

During the meeting, he told students about his early experiences of frustration, his sources of inspiration, and how he composes songs. He played guitar and sang a song which moved the event to a finale. Hecker also spoke highly of the CWU MAI Instrument Group's singing.

Some 300 students attended the meeting. Hecker's performance not only enriched students' cultural lives, but also cultivated their musical sentiment, organizers said.
