CWU Journal Passes Official Academic Certification

 November 26, 2015

In order to regulate the specifications of China's official journals, the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film, and Television of the People's Republic of China (SARFT) recently launched a certification scheme for academic periodicals. The Journal of China Women's University (CWU) passed the first group of inspection and met the strict standards required to be identified as class "A".

According to a notice about developing the work of academic periodical certification and enhancements, provincial press and publication bureaus and the State government department in charge of periodicals selected some 6,060 journals to be assessed. On this basis, the SARFT inspected these periodicals and publicized the results. A total of 5,737 periodicals passed the first group of inspection.

The periodicals were subsequently analyzed and divided into four categories. Those in class "A" were identified as academic periodicals; those in "B" were identified as academic periodicals with several issues to amend; those in class "C" were recommended to be revised and re-identified; and those in class "D" were identified as non-academic periodicals.
