Vietnam Women's Delegation Visits S China's Guangxi

At the invitation of Guangxi Women's Federation (GWF), the member of the Central Women's Federation of Vietnam and the head of the Ministry of Nationalities and Religions led a delegation of 25 on a special visit in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from December 13-20, 2015.

During the visit, the delegation received three days of training at the China-ASEAN Women's Training Center in the provincial city of Nanning.

Mu Hong, minister of International Affairs of the All-China Women's Federation; Wu Yanjuan, vice-president of GWF, and Professor Lan Xiangyun from the ASEAN Research Institute of Guangxi University gave special lectures on women's employment, political participation, education, and healthcare.

They also introduced the work of the Chinese government and women's federations at various levels in safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of women and children and promoting women's development and gender equality.

During the exchange activities, the delegation of Women's Federation of Vietnam  also conducted related inspections and investigations work in cities such as Chongzuo, Nanning, Guilin and Laibin in Guanxi.

GWF has made full use of the China-ASEAN Women's Training Center and has continuously strengthened exchanges and cooperation with women in ASEAN countries in recent years.

They have also invited female officials from Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia and Cao Bằng of Vietnam to conduct exchange activities, and established a regular exchange mechanism with women's federations of ASEAN countries.
