Reviewing the friendly and cooperative relations between the two organizations, Shen thanked UN Women's long-term and strong support for ACWF's projects on women's development and the protection of rights and interests.
She also expressed her hopes to consistently extend bilateral collaboration and better coordinate global multilateral activities, including South-South Cooperation, to make more contributions to global women's development.
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 2012, the CPC Central Committee with President Xi Jinping as its core leader has focused greatly on women's causes. Shen briefly introduced the country's achievements in terms of women's advancement and the vigorous implementation of Xi's proposals made at the UN's Global Leaders' Meeting on Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment.
During the meeting, Puri said she also appreciated China's efforts to highlight global women's causes, as well as its support for the UN organization. In addition, she looked forward to further deepening cooperation with the Chinese government and the ACWF.
Xia Jie, vice-president and member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, also attended the meeting.
