Cao Shihong and Ma Xuemei gave birth to a pair of twin sisters in August of 2009. However, the fates of the twins are very different, New Express Daily reported.

Elder girl Chuting is a healthy child, but her little sister Yuyi was diagnosed with severe thalassemia at the age of 2.

Yuyi needs a blood transfusion every 20 days. She also needs to have injections five times a week for excretion of iron.

Six -year-old Chuting wants to save her little sister by giving her hematopoietic stem cells. "I am not afraid of pain; I just want my little sister to get better," she says.

Fortunately, the two sisters' stem cell matches. Since Yuyi was diagnosed with thalassemia, Ma Xuemei, their mother quit her job and took full-time care of the sick girl.

The father is the only bread earner of the family, who works hard every day to bring 3,000 yuan home monthly. The money barely covers blood transfusions fees and their daily life.

The family is not giving up. They borrowed 200,000 yuan from their relatives and friends; currently, the family still needs another 100,000 yuan for transplant surgery to save the little girl.
