ACWF Holds Seminar on Healthy Childbirth

 March 1, 2015

A seminar on the development of a newly launched charity program whose aim is to enhance the quality of health care provided to pregnant women in China and to help them give birth to healthy babies while ensuring their own health as well was held in Beijing on February 3, 2015.

Experts on psychology, education, health care, and nutrition took part in the seminar, discussing the charity program's development plan, research and publicity initiatives, and the management of volunteers. The attendees also participated in a discussion on the working plan for the charity program in the year 2015.

The charity program was organized by the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) for implementing the spirits of the National Program for Children's Development in China (2011–2020) and the National Family Education Guidance Framework. The program has received support from many research and medical institutions.

The charity program will feature interactive communication methods—for example, the use of mobile-phone apps—for helping pregnant women get necessary and up-to-date information and professional guidance on pregnancy and childbirth and on caring for their baby, as well as for helping build a community for them to communicate with each other.

In addition, the charity program will also help pregnant women get professional guidance through the organization of public activities.
