Beijing Women's Federation invited reporters from China's main media outlets to conduct an interview at grass-roots level in Pinggu District on July 15.

Pinggu Women's Federation held a press conference to address the reporters on their work progress. President of Pinggu Women's Federation, Liu Ying, told reporters that the Federation has made great achievements in promoting women's development, building harmonious families, guiding women to serve the public and reinforcing grassroots organizations.

In recent years, the Pinggu Women's Federation has raised 10 million yuan (U.S. $1.6 million) to promote women's development. The Federation has delivered professional training to over 300,000 rural women. Furthermore, the Federation has launched the campaign of "Happy Bride's Training Session", which delivered lectures to women on the topics of family member relations, household skills and health. In addition, the Federation has organized 1,400 volunteers to take care of 983 single elderly people. Moreover, the Federation has worked hard to implement the campaign of "Seeking the Most Beautiful Families." The Federation has selected 60 families as the "Most Beautiful Families" in Pinggu.

Women's representatives, including a volunteer, an official from a grassroots women's organization, and a member of the "Most Beautiful Family" briefed reporters on their stories.

Afterwards, the reporters visited a fruit farm and a "Women's Home" in the district.
