A group of bilingual Mandarin and Miao language speakers taught residents in the village of Maluchong, southwest China’s Guizhou Province, the spirit of the latest 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on November 30.
The small village has a population of 1,405 and only half of the middle-aged and elderly who live there can understand Chinese.
Long Tonghai, a member of the publicity team and an official in the village, said, “Almost all villagers who work and live in the region come here. They are eager to know more about the report.”
The group was part of the publicity team with 12 members organized by the Bureau of Religious Affairs of the Miao Autonomous County of Songtao.
To date, the team has given over 50 lectures and directly translated the congress report into the Miao language.
The team members also publicized the congress spirit by practicing dances and music. They have already held 27 similar activities across the county.
Furthermore, officials and volunteers also helped explain the congress spirit by visiting households.
