A psychologist from central China's Hubei Province has committed herself to running charity events for the past 10 years in order to use her professional knowledge to help more people.
Pan Lan received an MA in child psychology from New York University and has since worked as an individual counselor, marriage counselor and art therapist in Hubei.
Since 2014, Pan and her team have given thousands of talks as part of the Family Education Public Welfare Lecture Hall project organized by Wuhan Women's Federation, Hubei.
In 2016, Pan, along with her team, visited children who were living without their migrant parents in Dawu County, Hubei, and also launched a painting activity themed My Mother.
On October 27, the women's federation of Jianghan District in Wuhan held a parent-child reading activity which attracted 150 families to participate and gained 60,000 viewers online.
Pan said her main motivation for participating in charity events comes from her own experience. When she was young, her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Since then, she often felt lonely and become eager for mother's comfort. So, she wanted to bring love and warmth to others.
Pan is currently taking part in the 12th National Women's Congress as a representative of women's social organizations at the grassroots level. She said it was her honor to do so.
She will strive to carry out her role as part of social organizations, continue to serve family education and children in distress in Hubei, and use her professional knowledge to create even more powerful charity events.
