Wang Haihong, a delegate to the 12th National Women's Congress (NWC), convened a special meeting at a local food company SAIQI in northwest China's Qinghai Province on November 19 to publicize the spirit of the Congress among female entrepreneurs.
Participants at the business premises of SAIQI also studied the important remarks made by President Xi Jinping while he attended a meeting on development of private enterprises and the spirit of a symposium on the development of the non-public economy that was held in Qinghai.
Wang, also president and secretary of the Leading Party Group of Qinghai Women's Federation, delivered a speech at the event.
Wang said the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) with President Xi at its core has paid close attention to women's causes and women's work.
Xi and members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee attended the opening of the 12th NWC and later met the new leadership of the All-China Women's Federation after the closing ceremony.
The keynote speech by Xi put forward specific demands for women's work and has further provided guidance and motivation for women's federations to carry out reform, explained Wang.
The congress encouraged all women across the country to follow the Party's lead and make high achievements in the new era, she added.
Wang said female entrepreneurs are outstanding representatives of all women and play an important role in promoting social, economic development, therefore they should carefully study the speech, implement its spirit and grasp its core meaning.
They should also uphold the socialist path with Chinese characteristics for women's development, steadfastly follow the Party and contribute their efforts to fulfilling all tasks defined at the congress.
Wang affirmed the achievements made by female entrepreneurs in promoting the high-quality development of the provincial economy and encouraged them to make higher achievements in the new era.
Wang said female entrepreneurs are an important force in promoting the development of the private economy and she put forward four requirements.
First, entrepreneurs should ensure the coordinated implementation of the five-sphere integrated plan and the four-pronged comprehensive strategy; prioritize ecological protection; pursue high-quality development and lifestyle; adhere to innovative development; and, contribute themselves to provincial economic development.
Second, entrepreneurs should study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
They should enhance the "Four Consciousnesses", namely the consciousness of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, follow the leadership core and keep in alignment, and strengthen the "Four Confidences", namely confidence in the path, theory, system and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
They should also carry forward the spirit of entrepreneurship, be patriotic and law-abiding and should pay back society.
Third, entrepreneurs should actively participate in various activities to help women start businesses; promote the rural vitalization strategy; help alleviate poverty; and, achieve their own value.
Fourth, entrepreneurs should carry out the Looking for the Most Beautiful Family campaigns in order to promote core socialist values and popularize good traditions.
After the speech, Wang visited the workshops of the food company and urged relevant officials to pay close attention to food safety so as to enhance overall quality.
Tang Xiaohong, a delegate to the 12th NWC and director of the Ruihu Biological Resources Development Company, shared her feelings of the congress at the gathering.
