Chongqing Women's Federation (CWF), in southwest China, plans to organize vocational training for over 4,000 women from 60 impoverished villages in 18 townships of the municipality over the next three months, according to a recent statement.

The latest initiative aims to provide rural women with professional skills training on agricultural planting, livestock breeding, agricultural processing, hand knitting, e-commerce and cooking, in a move to help them find nearby employment opportunities.

Several beneficiaries said they highly cherish the upcoming training opportunity since it is difficult for them to migrate, and involvement in farming cannot guarantee them a decent income.
