President of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) Shen Yueyue joined the discussion of the government work report with the delegation of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) from east China's Zhejiang Province on March 6 in Bejing.

Shen stressed that 2014 is a year for promoting comprehensive deepening reform, and that they should focus on the top-level, while respecting the creative spirit of the grassroots. She continued that they should not only focus on the promotion of Party committees and governments, but also fully mobilize the majority of women through publicity and education guidance so that people can truly understand, support and actively join in the reform. Shen added that it is important to co-ordinate economic and social development and improving people's livelihoods, with particular emphasis on solving prominent environmental issues and paying close attention to the interests of poor people, so that more equitable reform development outcomes benefit the masses.

Also in attendance at the meeting were other government officials from Zhejiang Province.
