People Send Good Wishes in Advance of National Women's Congress

Many citizens from different sections of society sent warm greetings to their female compatriots this month in celebration of the upcoming 12th National Women's Congress of China.

 

Lü Jingbo is vice-president and secretary-general of the Chinese Women Photographers' Association (CWPA). She says that during the past five years, women have made great contributions in socialist construction and have achieved their own values. Lü believes that the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) will play a bigger role and hopes that Chinese women can devote themselves to constructing socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. She promises that CWPA will work together with all women to build a brighter future. [Women Voice]
Choreographer Zhang Ping and her husband, both from Beijing Dance Academy, have carried out special projects in rural areas in southwest China's Yunnan Province and north China's Hebei Province to provide rural children with professional dance education in the past six years. They have helped 60 rural girls enter provincial and municipal arts schools. They hope the congress will be a complete success and said they are willing to help more girls and so-called "left-behind" children as a part of the effort to promote rural vitalization. Li Zejun is craftswoman who specializes in making the guqin (a seven-stringed plucked instrument similar to the zither). She is proud of her traditional art which has a history of 4,300 years. Li wishes to carry forward guqin culture to the world and wishes the congress a great success. [Women Voice]
Xing Junxiao, a member of the Communist Party of China and a national-level dough figurine artist from northwest China's Shaanxi Province, says she will stay true to her original mission and popularize traditional Chinese art and culture among more people. [Women Voice]
As a volunteer at a university for the elderly in Shanyang District, Jiaozuo City, central China's Henan Province, Chen Chunling expresses her congratulations to the upcoming congress and encourages women volunteers to roll up their sleeves and work with added energy so as to create a colorful life for the elderly in the new era. Guo Xiushan and her husband Chen Weijiang are members of a household named as a National Civilized Family. They say the ACWF has made impressive achievements in the implementation of the basic State policy of gender equality and the protection of women's legal rights and interests. The federation has carried out the Looking for the Most Beautiful Families campaign and developed the family service industry to help more women find jobs. The couple believe that Chinese women will make greater achievements with the guidance of the 12th National Women's Congress. [Women Voice]
Guo Xiuling, director of a farmer cooperative in Chifeng City, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, sent her congratulations to the upcoming congress. Guo says she and her fellow rural women will make full use of local  advantages in agricultural and livestock production and try their best to develop rural cooperative organizations to increase incomes and help local people shake off poverty.
