The Migrant Women's Club is China's first public welfare organization providing services for migrant women who come from the countryside to the city for work.

Established in April 1996, the club gives rural migrant women a place to call their own. A key characteristic that distinguishes the club is that migrant women themselves run the organization and the majority of the staff are migrant women. The Migrant Women's Club aims to protect the legal rights and interests of migrant women, improve their quality of life and strengthen their self-development abilities.

In order to realize their goals and objectives, the club often organizes a broad spectrum of events and programs. Some of these have included the Domestic Workers’ Support Network, Group for Upholding Migrant Women's Rights, Emergency Relief Fund, Migrant Children’s Education, Maternal Health Promotion and so forth. The club also provides services and legal aid through a telephone hotline and consultations to raise the women's knowledge of law, awareness of gender equality and citizenship. Most importantly, the club focuses on building up the self-confidence of migrant women and empowering them to protect their own rights and interests.
