Local families in Jingmen, a city of central China's Hubei Province, have been encouraged to proactively observe traditional Chinese virtues and legal regulations in their daily lives in accordance with the Family Morality Bank Program.

Introduced by Jingmen Women's Federation in 2015, the program specifies that participating families collect or lose points on the basis of their observance of traditional Chinese virtues and social conventions, personal contributions to social and economic affairs, and breach of laws as well as regulations.

Points can be exchanged for material or intangible awards.

So far, the program has been implemented in 10 pilot residential communities across the city, and drawn the attendance of more than 20,000 families.
